My first completed restoration during the Summer of 2009 finished just in time for a ride with the Denver old-school BMX group. I never owned a Powerlite growing up but saw this pop up on Craigslist and knew I wanted to bring it back to life. Once I found a couple flat black Powerlites on bmxmuseum.com I knew mine had to be done that way. One very light and fast feeling bike.
I picked up this Pro Performer along with another one through CL as a pair. This one was in poor shape and had been re-welded at the junction of the top tube and seat mast. I figured it was a good candidate for restoration since it had not "survived" and can no longer be considered a survivor. I went through several ideas in my mind and they all slowly morphed into what you see here.
